主讲内容："The American Media and China"focusing on what many Chinese perceive as obsessively negative coverage of China. Why so many critical stories? Why so little credit for the progress China has made? A survey of American media coverage of China dating back to the Chinese Civil War. Contemporary case study: The New York Times, for whom I used to work.
主讲人：美国哥伦比亚大学Bill Berkeley
简 介：Bill Berkeley has been an editorial writer for The New York Times, focusing on international affairs and American foreign policy, and was a foreign correspondent for The Atlantic magazine in Africa and the Middle East. He is the author of "The Graves Are Not Yet Full," a book about war and genocide in Africa. He has taught journalism for ten years at Columbia University in New York. For the past two springs he has taught international journalism and opinion writing at Fudan University's Journalism School in Shanghai He is currently doing so for the entire academic year on a Fulbright Scholarship. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School, where he spent a year on a fellowship for journalists。
